Despite the fact that my undergraduate degree is in English with an emphasis on literature, it seems that there are a lot of "classic" novels I haven't read. Don't get me wrong, I've read a lot of great books, but it seems that I've missed out on something.
Because of this, I decided that I'd undertake a little project. I found a couple of lists along the lines of "100 greatest novels" etc. I'm going to read as many books on these lists as I can. I'll make up a compilation list from this list from the Cincinnati library, this list from Time magazine, and this list from Random House publishers.
This is really a lot of books, so it will probably take me awhile. Anyone want to play along?

Oh, there are some FABULOUS books on those lists! Hmmm, you may have inspired me...
I really like this idea! I was going to try to read 4-5 books over Christmas break (we'll see how far I get) and this is good inspiration. I'm actually surprised at how many I've already read- I figured it would be like 1% but it's more like 25%. I guess my education wasn't as lacking as I thought! Still I have a lot left to go!

I actually printed off that same list from Cincinnati and planned on using that as my guide to do this very thing.
However - if you are combining the lists, I would gladly go off that list. Just let me know :)
I've been trying to do this forever and keep getting side tracked! Lately I've been working off the Booker List (UK). I hope you blog about all the books! I love seeing first person reviews!
Wow! There's some really good books here. Don't you love books that have w/stood the test of time?
Since you obviously like to read (I do too!), just wondering . . . What would your personal "Top 10 Books" contain?
